Liverpool City Council hosted a collection of celebratory events to commemorate Liverpool’s Bicentenary year.
The City was founded by Governor Lachlan Macquarie on 7 November 1810, when he set up towns on higher grounds to provide accommodation and security to settlers away from flooded river banks.
This special milestone was celebrated with an abundance of community events including Australia Day, Open-air Cinemas, Freedom of City Army March, Clive Graham Fun Run and a closing festival.
It has been a tremendous year filled with birthday celebrations which allowed our residents to acknowledge Liverpool’s rich heritage as well as embrace our growing City.
