LiveWire 2011 – A forum for young and aspiring LG leaders

Are you interested in change, creating new ideas and energy for Local Government? Well Wollongong City Council has the forum for you – LiveWire Conference 2011 is being held in Wollongong, NSW from 28-29 September this year.

The LiveWire Network is steadily growing after its birth in 2008. The idea formed from a series of informal conversations among Local Government cadets and senior managers who were keen to shake up the sector by creating a platform for change to improve the image of Local Government.

LiveWire is about adding that spark – hence the name LiveWire – to the Local Government sector by encouraging an innovative and forward thinking mind set among professionals.

Wollongong City Council Conference Organiser Zach Kitschke said the LiveWire Conference is a place for professionals of all ages to not only gain valuable skills while learning how to influence positive change, but also build invaluable networks.

“I’m excited about this year’s conference,” said Zach Kitschke, Organisational Strategy and Improvement Cadet. “We’ve got a great line up of speakers that will appeal to cadets through to executives in Local Government.”

LiveWire Conference 2011 is packed with speakers including Ben Palmer, CEO of Emotional Intelligence firm Genos; John Montgomery, Managing Director, Urban Cultures; and Ita Buttrose, businesswoman, journalist and household name.

The LiveWire Conference 2011 is a two day event being held at the Novotel Wollongong from 28 to 29 September with an informal cocktail evening on the Wednesday 28 September to socialise and network with others.

To find out more about LiveWire 2011 and to register visit www.livewirenetwork.com.au

Registration only costs $349 for the two day conference.

Following the conference, the LiveWire network will continue to hold regular networking events and use online technologies to continue to connect and share across the sector.
