Parks and Leisure on show in Cairns*

How’s your winter looking? The 2014 Parks and Leisure Australia National Conference will be held in tropical Cairns from 24th–27th August.

It’s an exciting opportunity  for the industry to gather for outstanding professional development.

This year’s theme: Communicate, Cooperate, Collaborate – sharing ideas and resources for a happier, healthier Australia provides the foundation for a challenging and stimulating cross-disciplinary program.

Our keynotes offer a fantastic blend of expertise and experience to inform and inspire you.

Ethan Kent, placemaking expert from the Project for Public Spaces will be coming from the USA to share his learnings from public space transformations in more than 750 cities and 55 countries.

David Bond, the unofficial “Marketing Director for Nature”, and official Director, producer and writer of Project Wild Thing, will be joining us from the UK to share his insights and ideas to get children off the couch and out into nature.

Tania Major, Kokoberra woman and former Young Australian of the Year, will delve into the conference theme to explore cross-cultural understanding.

Glen Jacobs, world-renowned mountain bike trail designer, will share his experiences from across Australia and the globe, which contribute to quality participation opportunities for competitive and recreational riders alike.

Finally, Paul Hockey, the first person with a disability to summit Mount Everest, will share his life experiences to motivate and inspire you to meet your own professional and personal challenges.

The conference also includes the opportunity to visit some of the region’s most stunning destinations for social events, perfect for networking, and technical tours, which will offer innovative learnings in alignment with our conference theme.

Excellent sponsorship and exhibition opportunities are also available.

The 2014 National Conference is now only three months away.

Don’t miss the opportunity to be a part of our principal industry event, which has plenty to offer for your professional development.

Warm up your minds in the tropics this winter and be prepared to be enlightened and motivated by industry leaders and colleagues.
