LGASA CEO new Kangaroo Island Commissioner

The President of the Local Government Association of South Australia (LGASA), Mayor David O’Loughlin said it was with much regret that he accepted a letter of resignation from ‘our long serving and highly regarded CEO Wendy Campana’.

Ms Campana has been appointed as the Commissioner for Kangaroo Island, reporting to the Deputy Premier John Rau.

The position is for a five-year term and begins on 8 May 2015.

“I am sure all in Local Government will join me in thanking Wendy for her enormous contribution to Local Government over the last 20 or so years, with the last 10 in the role of CEO, her loss will be felt far and wide and we will be challenged to find a replacement candidate of such calibre,” Mayor O’Loughlin said.

“Wendy has been offered and has accepted a very exciting role as the first Commissioner for Kangaroo Island, a role she is eminently suited to, an incredibly exciting opportunity and very much a case of our loss being to the benefit of the Kangaroo Island community and the State.

“We wish Wendy all the very best with her new role.”

Mayor O’Loughlin said Wendy’s last day at the LGA will coincide with the Association’s Ordinary General Meeting on 1 May 2015.

“This event will present an ideal opportunity for the family of Local Government to thank and farewell Wendy and we will be well-placed to recognise and celebrate her achievements at this major event.”
