In the week leading up to ANZAC Day, Local Government Focus will be highlighting some of the events local governments are hosting to commemorate the ANZAC Centenary.
Alice Springs Town Council has hosted several events to commemorate ANZAC Day.
The Alice Springs Library has hosted the ‘Alice Springs: Then & Now’ exhibition launch, a screening of Youth Oral History short films, and is also currently hosting the ‘A camera on Gallipoli’ photo exhibition.
The exhibition features a series of photographs by Charles Ryan, taken on Gallipoli and recording Australian experiences at war.
This exhibition will be on display throughout April and is courtesy of Alice Springs RSL.
On ANZAC Day Alice Spring is also hosting a dawn service at ANZAC Hill and a march from Council offices to ANZAC Hill later in the morning.
