As part of the Northern Territory’s annual Seniors Month, Darwin’s senior citizens are being encouraged to get active.
Free events will run throughout the month of August at various locations across the city.
Activities include digital scrapbooking classes, ballroom dancing, eBooks classes, a Tai Chi class, smart devices classes, lawn bowls, photography classes, laughter yoga and flowers craft classes.
Special events include a morning with Charlie King and a special evening at the Deckchair Cinema.
Lord Mayor Katrina Fong Lim said the City of Darwin is proud to host the popular program of events.
“Every year Council has a great turnout for our Seniors Month Program and I especially love to see our seniors getting out and about, being social and promoting active ageing.
“All events are free of charge for NT Seniors cardholders, so I encourage everyone to come along, try something new and meet some new friends.”
Bookings are essential for all activities. For more information visit the City of Darwin website: www.darwin.nt.gov.au.
