Reasons why you should ‘Be the Balance’!*

Registration opens for the Australian Local Government Women’s Association (ALGWA) Biennial Conference.

Secure your place today for the National JLT- ALGWA Conference in Launceston, 11–13 April 2017 and then stay on to search for Easter eggs around some of Tasmania’s secret corners!

Host branch ALGWA Tasmania are proud that many councils across the state have assisted with funding and to further recognise them we will be encouraging delegates to visit those special corners of Tasmania with selected brochures.

There will be a balance of amazing speakers – most are significantly talented Tasmanians.

Keynote speaker, Helene Chung is a ground breaking journalist and an Australian Chinese fourth generation Tasmanian. Helen will delight us with humour, confront us with daring and inspire us through her achievements and zest for life.

Former councillor, Dr Joan Webb represents the strong, resilient woman most of us aspire to be. Not only will Joan inspire us with the work she does at her local aged care centre, but she will help us to understand how to live life as a full octogenarian.

Take the opportunity to share your own stories, feel empowered, learn new skills and build a network that works for you.

Enjoy an interlude with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and dance the night away with the popular Doctors Rocksters and end up acclaiming, “It’s all about Me!!” with Rob Edwards.

At the close of Conference, the National Board will conduct their Annual General Meeting. Why not ‘Be the Balance’ there too?

And finally, because everyone needs to ‘Be the Balance’ it is expected that many men will consider becoming delegates as well.
