IPWEA showing councils the way to a brighter, smarter future*

LED street lights have been proven to halve energy bills, slash maintenance costs, create safer roads and improve public safety and community amenity – but many Australian councils are still unsure how to move forward with their own projects.

The 3rd International Street Lighting and Smart Controls conference, featuring world-class international speakers, will give local governments the answers, information and networking opportunities needed to grab hold of this opportunity.

The conference is presented in Brisbane, 14 – 17 March by the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia (IPWEA), the peak industry body for public works engineers.

With an international line-up of speakers from across the world, supported by leaders from Australia and New Zealand, the conference program is jam-packed with technical and management information unsurpassed by any other lighting conference in Australia or New Zealand IPWEA CEO Robert Fuller said, “Less than 10 per cent of Australian street lights have been converted to LEDs, and almost none have smart controls.
