Small changes can make a big difference in Local Government

The 2017 LGPro Annual Conference being held on Wednesday 22 February and Thursday 23 February at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre will have a new look and a new format.

The theme for 2017 is: “Small Change, Big Difference” focusing on the small changes councils can make that will have a big impact on their staff, their work and their community.

It will kick off on Wednesday 22 February with six, work focused Streams with Themes workshops presented by sector leaders and subject matter experts. They will cover a range of topics of particular interest to Local Government and will provide those attending with valuable takeaways to help them do their job.

The conference will continue on Thursday 23 February with a full day program, which includes:

  • Three amazing keynote speakers: Holly Ransom, Dianne Vella-Brodrick and Phil Ruthven.
  • Four Short Talk presenters: Nasir Sobhani, Tania de Jong, Nick Hatzoglou and Phil Cleary.
  • A presentation by the 2016 Emerging Leaders Program participants
  • A ‘Sharing the Wisdom’ session in which winners of the 2016 LGPro Awards for Excellence will discuss their projects.
  • The Annual Conference Dinner, which includes the presentation of the 2017 Awards for  Excellence.
