The City of Mount Gambier has undergone a major internal organisational restructure, in line with its resident-driven Community Plan.

The plan is based on the aspirations identified in the Futures Paper, a long-term plan involving the input of 600 residents.

The strategies and actions featured in the plan will guide the City of Mount Gambier over the next four years and serve as a blueprint to build a progressive, knowledge-based city that embraces new technologies, culture and sustainable living.

“Four elements, including our people, our location, our economy and our climate, natural resources, art, culture and heritage will contribute towards the future growth and development of the City and form the goals of Council’s Community Plan,” said City of Mount Gambier Chief Executive Officer Mark McShane.

Four general managers have been appointed as part of the comprehensive restructure to deliver cultural change and organisational strategy.

The key leadership positions report to the CEO.

“These positions will enable us to deliver on the Community Plan objectives and implement effective governance strategy and service delivery,” said Mr McShane.

Pamela Lee has taken on the role of General Manager Council Business Service, which incorporates Finance, Governance, Corporate Strategy and Council Administration; General Manager City Growth is Judy Nagy who will be responsible for Economic Development, Tourism, Council Events Management, Planning and Building; Nick Serle is General Manager City Infrastructure, which incorporates Field Staff, Depot, Engineering Design and Contract Management; General Manager Community Wellbeing is Barbara Cernovskis, who will oversee Arts, Culture, Heritage, Library, Community Development, Art Gallery and Sustainability.
