A barbie in the park is as Aussie as it gets*

Barbecuing outdoors is a great Australian tradition, and there is nothing better than spending a sunny day with family and friends at the local park cooking up a few snags on the public BBQ.

This is a tradition that is only getting more popular, says Amanda Paterson of BBQs-R-US – a leading manufacturer of the iconic Aussie park barbie.

“On the BBQ, everyone becomes a chef,” she says. “A BBQ is more than just a way to cook – it’s a fun social event that gets families together and it’s a great way to enjoy the outdoors.”

BBQs-R-US began manufacturing their range of Parkland BBQs almost 40 years ago, and still make their BBQs in Melbourne.

“We’re very proud to say our Parkland BBQs are Australian made,” says Amanda, “it allows for high quality control and therefore a very strong and sturdy product.”

The most popular BBQ made by BBQs-R-US is their unique large Kingsize BBQ, available in either electric or gas operation. “It’s a really big plate – almost 50% bigger than our smaller Queensize plate – so cooks for a lot of people. And the big elements and burners ensure the plate gets really hot really fast, which is necessary on some days when there are queues waiting to use the BBQs.”
