20 year anniversary*

Coffs Harbour City Council is organising the 20th Anniversary Local Government Information Technology Conference at Opal Cove Resort, Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, 29 November – 1 December 2017.

IT2017 provides a forum for Local Government Managers and support staff to network, learn and exchange ideas. The program will feature key speakers from government, the private sector, online organisations, and the computer and communications industries. Representatives of local, state and federal government agencies, and business corporations will be in attendance from throughout Australia.

This year marks the 20th Anniversary of the Conference, and we are going back to the venue where it all started – beautiful and absolute beachfront Opal Cove Resort in Coffs Harbour, where the rainforest meets the sea. Approximately halfway between Brisbane and Sydney, come and explore the regions mountains, rainforests and pristine beaches!

This year’s conference will feature high profile keynote speakers, including Peter Coroneos, an internationally recognised internet industry leader, activist, policy innovator and cyber governance expert; Nick Abrahams, regular speaker on innovation and disruption who will share his views as a practical futurist – looking at the impact of technology over the next 3-5 years; Gus Balbontin, former Executive Director and Chief Technology Officer of Lonely Planet, who led a large global restructure that reinstated the company’s financial health and strengthened its ability to manage future disruption; Steve Sammartino, one of Australia’s most respected futurists and business technologists, uniquely combining anthropology and technology and Peter Davidson, the paramedic who put his own life in danger during the tragic 1998 Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race.
An extensive trade exhibition and fun networking functions form an integral component of the conference. Don’t miss this opportunity to network with industry suppliers and keep up to date with latest developments in industry products and services.
