Cemeteries benefit from upgrades

Snowy Monaro Regional Council, New South Wales, has completed three Stronger Communities Fund (SCF) Major Projects with cemeteries across the region benefiting from recent upgrades.

Bredbo, Nimmitabel, and Numeralla Cemeteries have all been enhanced as part of a major investment into public health works in the Snowy Monaro.

A new storage shed has been constructed at the Bredbo Cemetery, while the Nimmitabel Cemetery Committee welcomed the arrival of a new ride on mower. The mower is just one of a number of improvements made to the Nimmitabel Cemetery with a new storage shed and water tank also constructed.

Upgrades to Numeralla Cemetery included the replacement of fences and an entrance gate.

Snowy Monaro Regional Council Mayor, John Rooney, said, “The completion of these works is another positive step in the delivery of the SCF Major Projects.

“Works at cemeteries form an integral part of public health upgrades that are taking place through the SCF Major Projects.

“There is an exciting range of projects being delivered. All towns across the region will benefit.“

An arborist inspection and tree works at the cemeteries is also underway.
