Rail infrastructure upgrades

Narromine Shire Council, New South Wales (NSW), has welcomed the announcement of $4.2 million for upgrades to the Narromine Rail yard.

Mayor, Craig Davies, said, “The upgrades will compliment investment further west on the track, assist in reducing transport costs to the farmer as well as increasing the capacity within the Shire.

“The upgrades will enhance development and growth within the Shire across all industries.

“These types of projects can only be for the betterment of all industries within
our Shire.”

The Narromine Ulan upgrade is one of eleven projects to have won a share of more than $137 million under the NSW Government’s Fixing Country Rail program.

The Fixing Country Rail program complements the successful Fixing Country Roads initiative, improving freight infrastructure and efficiency across the state. These programs combined are worth nearly $1 billion.
