Excellence in Family Day Care

Greater Hume Children Services have been announced winners of the 2018 New South Wales (NSW)/Australian Capital Territory Excellence in Family Day Care Awards.

Greater Hume Council, Mayor, Heather Wilton, said, “The Award acknowledges the great commitment by the Service team and educators, as this success has been achieved in an environment of extensive change in the sector with a greater focus on quality, relationships and outcomes for children.”

Greater Hume Children Services has been providing family day care and playgroups for 24 years.

The service continues to grow and now supports educators and families throughout Greater Hume, southern NSW and northeast Victoria.

Newly appointed Team Leader, at Greater Hume Children Services, Fiona Pattinson, said, “We are constantly looking for ways we can continue to improve and work with our fantastic educators and families to provide the children with opportunities in play and learning, which help them discover, take risks, investigate, build resilience, express their ideas, solve problems and make their own choices.

“Creativity and innovation are key to our approach which includes nature based play that enables children the opportunity to explore, discover, imagine, create and challenge themselves and each other’s thinking.”

Greater Hume Children Services serves both urban and rural children and families and is focused on giving both equal opportunities catering for full-time, part-time, casual, overnight care, weekend care, before and after school and vacation care.

Additionally, the service provides opportunities for people in the region who love working with children to establish a viable business providing family day care with the support of the Greater Hume Children Services.
