Bike path for the littlies

Shoalhaven City Council, New South Wales, has opened a new Learn to Ride bike path for Parramatta Park, East Nowra.

Mayor, Amanda Findley, was delighted with the new facility and encouraged the youngest residents of the Shoalhaven to try the new the bike path enhancement.

“This new Learn to Ride bike path will help toddlers, preschoolers and primary school aged children improve their early bicycle riding skills.

“The new park will complement the existing playground, basketball court, story poles that are currently in Parramatta Park and the newly planted trees.

“Council committed $25,000 towards the construction of the park and successfully secured $50,000 grant from Social Housing Community Improvement Fund grant from the Department of Family and Community Services for the project.

“Parramatta Park is a true collaboration project which Council staff have been working collaboratively on with Illawarra Shoalhaven Social Investments to make Parramatta a centrepiece for the ‘Our Place’ initiative.”
