The Northern Midlands Council, Tasmania, has announced the completion of the third and final stage of the Longford Village Green Playground.
The final stage of the playground features an all-inclusive carousel suitable for wheelchairs and a two-seat swing with a baby harness unit and an inclusive swing unit.
The Northern Midlands Council is proud to be able to provide these playground facilities for all to enjoy and in particular for those that do not have the ability to do so on their own.
Mayor, Mary Knowles OAM, said, “It is important that we provide these facilities to children and adults with a disability so that they can be included and not feel left out from the joys and delight of using a playground.
“We have been determined to be able to provide something suitable for those with a disability since the commencement of the playground and we are so pleased to see the final stage include not only one, but two pieces”.
“I invite families from all over Tasmania to come and enjoy our playground and the comforts and amenities that Longford, and the rest of our region offers.”
