Environmentally friendly golf cart

Low maintenance, energy sparing and fun to drive golf carts keep Council’s costs down.

The public golf course at Gordon is now the proud owner of 14 new golf carts powered by lithium batteries.

According to Ku-ring-gai Council, New South Wales, the golf carts will deliver up to a 40 percent reduction in energy costs each year.

Powered by the latest generation lithium ion batteries they have a faster charging time than conventional lead-acid batteries.

This means the golf carts will be low-maintenance, more reliable and conserve energy to improve the overall performance of Council’s vehicle fleet.

The new golf carts are the latest initiative implemented by Council to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and cut energy costs.

Other energy-saving initiatives implemented in Council buildings include solar panels at the depot and libraries, and movement activated lighting which switches off automatically when offices become empty.
