Ride like a girl on a BMX

More females are being encouraged to get on their bikes at the BMX track as part of a new initiative.

Ballarat Sebastopol BMX Club, in partnership with City of Ballarat, Victoria, is hosting a series of female-only coaching clinics in a bid to attract more women and girls into the fast-paced BMX sport.

The clinics provide a safe and welcoming club environment for women and girls to explore participating in BMX.

The initiative also encourages women and girls to be active and discover great leadership opportunities, both on and off the track.

The female-only BMX series is a first of its kind event, funded through the Victorian Government’s Change Our Game program.

The City of Ballarat’s Sport and Active Living team is supporting the clinic initiative with promotion and in-kind support.

The initiative goes to the core of the City of Ballarat’s Active Women and Girls’ Strategy.
