The Sports Turf Association (STA), New South Wales, is conducting an educational seminar for local council personnel on Thursday, 14 May 2020.

The event is free for local government and sessions start at 9am on the conference level at Panthers Penrith, 123 Mulgoa Road Penrith, New South Wales.

Coffee and lunch will be provided free of charge.

Representatives of all local government areas within Australia have been invited to attend the sessions which will be conducted concurrently in two rooms.

A broad range of topics of interest to local government will be presented across areas of turf management, equipment and technology.

Presentations will cover areas of interest such as: sports field construction and renovation, world first sports field monitoring systems, avoiding chemical resistance, use of pigments in sports turf management, integrated sustainable weed management, treads for avoiding damage to surfaces, new Softfall Australian Standards and trends on natural play and sustainable erosion control, telematics and more.

Following the STA training seminar, delegates will have exclusive guided entry to the 2020 National Diesel Dirt and Turf Expo being held in the grounds adjacent to the Panthers venue.

Chris Chapman of STA New South Wales, said, “The seminar is a great opportunity for council infrastructure and parks personnel to update their knowledge on a wide range of disciplines within the sports field and public space management area.

“Many of the speakers are leaders in their field and the exclusive local government access to the Diesel Dirt and Turf Expo on that day will facilitate the close engagement of educational seminar delegates with industry specialists.”
