Nathan Daniell elected Mayor of Adelaide Hills Council

Adelaide Hills Council is pleased to advise that Nathan Daniell has formally been elected Mayor following confirmation of results from the supplementary election.

Mr Daniell has served as a councillor since 2014, as Deputy Mayor for more six years, and has held the position of Acting Mayor since March 2025.

He was elected with 4179 votes after preferences ahead of Andrew Stratford who received 2758 votes.

“I feel honoured to have been elected Mayor of the Adelaide Hills Council, and I thank our community for their support and for the trust they have placed in me,” Mayor Daniell said.

“I am committed to respectful and collaborative leadership, grounded in careful listening and thoughtful decision-making.

“My focus will include protecting the character and amenity of the Hills, strengthening Council’s long-term financial sustainability, caring for our natural environment, and supporting our thriving sport and recreation facilities.

“I look forward to working closely with elected members, Council staff and our community to support the long-term wellbeing of our people, our places and our environment.”

The position of Deputy Mayor will be voted on by elected members at the next Council meeting on 24 February 2026.

“We understand and appreciate the time taken by residents to engage in the electoral process to help shape the future of their community,” CEO Greg Georgopoulos said.

“On behalf of the entire administration and staff, I congratulate Mayor Daniell on his election and look forward to continuing our productive working relationship.”
