Conference mecca

Superb weather, a beautiful location, excellent facilities, plus a full range of accommodation choices, places Coffs Harbour at the leading edge of the conference and convention marketplace.

In addition to twice hosting over 800 Local Government Association delegates during this decade, Coffs Harbour Council is running a number of other forums, making the most of the City’s growing reputation as a Conference venue.

“Council is at the cutting edge in much of its service delivery and we are keen to share this expertise with others in the industry,” said Mark Ferguson, Director Finance and Administration. “Combining this with our ability to present a low cost event in a very pleasant location, provides all the ingredients for success.”

Last year, Council attracted over 350 delegates to its very successful Waste Management Conference. This year, two further events are planned, ‘Information Technology – the Road Ahead’ on 18 and 19 September and Waste Management scheduled for November. To be staged at the Novotel Opal Cove Resort, these Conferences are again expected to attract good attendances from around the State and interstate.

“As well as being a boost for local industry during quieter times, Council receives the additional benefit of gleaning information and new ideas from others in Local Government, and representatives from private and other public sector organisations who attend,” Mark Ferguson added.
