Gladstone Regional Council recently introduced the web based Doc Assembler application as its solution for delivering an automated Agenda and Minute solution.
Council last year started investigating solutions that could deliver a cloud-based application to enable it to generate and distribute agendas and minutes to elected members and senior Staff. The Council was keen to investigate a solution that could be delivered on mobile devices and which would permit staff to work collaboratively.
The existing system was based on old technology and relied heavily on add ins being installed and the use of Word macros. The application was not mobile compatible or accessible outside of the Council offices. It also required legacy software to run which Council no longer wanted to support.
A Project Steering Committee was convened to source a solution with a clear focus on mobility. Having looked at a range of options, the recommendation was to implement Doc Assembler, a completely web based solution from Harbour Software.
Doc Assembler delivered on the key requirements for Council and is currently being rolled out to all report writers within the organisation. Delivered under a Software as a Service (SaaS) model, the Council will be using the solution to manage a range of committees including the Council meetings via Doc Assembler. Fully integrated into Docs On Tap the document distribution app provided by Harbour Software, Doc Assembler has managed to deliver to Council an all-in-one application for the automation of its agenda and minutes processes.
