Mountain Biking Series

Seven NSW inland Cities have released an expression of interest to secure a naming rights sponsor for the 2015 Evocity Mountain Bike (MTB) Series to create the biggest MTB Series in Australia.

Mayor of Dubbo, Councillor Mathew Dickerson said the Evocity MTB Series would take place in 2015 and would see a major mountain bike race held in each of the seven Evocities of Albury, Armidale, Bathurst, Dubbo, Orange, Tamworth and Wagga Wagga.

“As an Evocity Dubbo City Council is excited to help bring this concept to a reality and provide a platform to promote the opportunities and lifestyle available in regional NSW to a national audience.

“The Evocity MTB Series seeks to establish a high performance pathway for mountain bike racing in Regional NSW. It will inspire increased participation in sport, raise the standard of mountain bike racing in Regional NSW and raise the profile of each of the Cities represented.

“Mountain biking is a fast-growing and popular recreation trend that could potentially create national exposure for the Evocity brand by aligning with a naming rights sponsor through a corporate partnership.

“With the support of a naming rights sponsor this event has the potential to be the most lucrative MTB Series in Australia.

“The prize money will stimulate interest among elite riders and extensive media coverage.”

All seven Evocities will have tailored tracks to ensure there is variance between the races and to cater for competitive, amateur and recreational mountain bikers of all abilities.

“Five of the seven Councils already host significant mountain bike events through their local clubs; however with the support of each Council, we can work with our local mountain bike clubs to create the Evocities MTB Series.

“By offering a significant prize pool and creating a mountain-biking event of national significance we can attract biking enthusiasts from around Australia to visit each of the Evocities, participate in the series and generate an economic return for each City.”
