Road safety highlighted at IPWEA NSW Excellence Awards

For the first time in the history of the Institute of Public Works Engineering of Australia (IPWEA) Excellence Awards, two Local Government Excellence in Road Safety Awards have been presented.

With immense interest and a high number of entries from around New South Wales, both a metropolitan and a regional award were presented to Campbelltown City Council and Yass Valley Council respectively.

Held in conjunction with the Annual State Conference in May, the Excellence Awards are organised by the IPWEA NSW Division to showcase the talent and achievements of the engineering industry.

The Excellence Awards program provides an opportunity for NSW IPWEA members to appreciate and demonstrate the scope, innovation and range of the work undertaken by themselves and other members.

“It is important to showcase the capacity of the people in our industry as a reminder to the community of the expertise that is applied on their behalf,” said IPWEA NSW President, Greg Moran.

“The awards are also about sharing your ideas and successes with your peers.”
