Twenty Warringah women graduated from the six-month Small Business Mentoring Program this week, hosted by Warringah Council in partnership with Inspiring Women and the NSW Department of Trade and Investment.
“The mentoring program offers long-lasting business skills and provides participants with the know how to take their business to the next stage,” said Warringah Mayor Michael Regan.
“Women are often motivated to start a small business to find a happy medium to balance work and family responsibilities.
“In fact, recent Bureau of Statistics data found that Australian women are starting small businesses at twice the rate of men.
“I am happy Warringah Council has been able to provide this program to help women achieve success, expand their operations and increase employment opportunities in the area.
“I would like to congratulate all 20 women for graduating from the mentoring program and wish them every success in their future business endeavours,” said Mayor Regan.
This is the second year Warringah Council has hosted the Women in Business Small Business Mentoring Program. This year, Warringah was the only council to hold the program in the Sydney metropolitan area.
