Commonwealth Bank provides holistic payment solution*

BPOINT offers access to a wide range of payment channels and options to suit your council. If your payment facilities have been affected by the recent Bill Express collapse, the Commonwealth Bank can provide replacement facilities for telephone and internet payments within just a few working days.

BPOINT internet and phone services provide a fully Bank hosted ecommerce payment solution. Key features include:

  • online, recurring direct debit and phone credit card
    payments
  • the consolidated hosting model provides a competitive
solution and removes the need for you to deal with
    additional third party service providers
  • credit card surcharge capabilities • an off the shelf bill payment web page that can be self customised using a simple wizard
  • customisable phone scripting options
  • the latest security and fraud features to ensure
    industry compliance (PCI DSS)
  • optional enhanced premium features such as council’s
own dedicated phone number, personalised scripting
or database verification (auto penalties, fixed amount
    and discounts)
  • a real time single payment interface for call centre
or adhoc back office payments which can be rolled
out to council community services such as libraries
    and childcare centres.

Commonwealth Bank can help you by establishing BPOINT facilities quickly, including transferring your existing telephone number to BPOINT, or establishing a new telephone number to get it up and running quickly.

“I was amazed at the team’s speed and efficiency — which ensured that both IVR and internet payments were able to be processed within 48 hours of application,” said Graham Johnson, Senior Rates Officer at the Town of Victoria Park.

Robin Garrett, Manager Finance at the City of Belmont was also very pleased with the overall process of establishing the BPOINT payment system.

“The timeframe to get it up and running was definitely a surprise, being a matter of days instead of the expected weeks,” Robin Garrett said. “Thank you very much for the urgent support you have provided to us and obviously to the industry as a whole at this rather trying time. It cannot have been easy to establish so many services at such short notice.”

BPOINT also provides an over the counter payment option. Using the Commonwealth Bank’s EFTPOS merchant base, your customers will enjoy the convenience of being able to pay their bills during their normal shopping routine at newsagents, convenience stores, pharmacies and supermarkets in your locality.
