The City of Greater Bendigo is offering seed funds to local young people and organisations wanting to plan, develop and deliver an event in Greater Bendigo to celebrate National Youth Week, which takes place from April 5th—14th.
Rory White, from the City’s Youth Development Team, said it was the third year in a row the funding had been offered.
“In addition to the funding, successful applicants will also get additional support for their event through the City’s Youth Week promotions and advertising,” Mr White said.
“This year, the City’s Youth Advisory Group will be managing the seeding funds program, and young people will facilitate and develop all activities and events throughout National Youth Week.
“Last year we had a fantastic response from young people and organisations to the seed funding, with a range of events on offer.
“This year we hope to keep this momentum and creativity flowing, and are looking forward to compiling an exciting calendar of local events during the week.”
“Youth Week is a great opportunity for young people across the nation to celebrate their diversity and showcase their talents, and to highlight the important contribution they make to the Greater Bendigo community,” said Mr White.
The theme for National Youth Week 2013 is ‘Be Active. Be Happy. Be You’.
