Climate Change Australia-Thermal Coatings (CCA-TC) was established by builders who recognised the potential of Thermoshield as an insulative coating.
By using CCA-TC to apply Thermoshield, building managers can address the issues raised by Part J of the Building Code Australia requirements. This is an important consideration for managers of council buildings and facilities.
Thermoshield was developed from NASA space technology to help protect space shuttles from intense heat as they made their re-entry to Earth.

Lex Ritchie, Manager Facilities and Building Services at Maroondah City Council, said that Thermoshield was used to coat the existing metal roof of the Croydon Leisure Centre, an area of some 4,100 square metres.
“It was found that energy savings of gas and electricity were in the order of 20 per cent,” Lex Ritchie said. This means Thermoshield saves Maroondah $50,000 every year, for the life of the roof.
Maroondah City Council is especially pleased with the look of the completed works and the truly remarkable energy savings.
Summer temperature readings of the outside roof surface of the Leisure Centre at 9.00am found the Thermosheild coated section of the roof to be 29 degrees Celsius, while the untreated section was already 70 degrees.
By 12 noon the treated section was 31.5 degrees, with the uncoated section of the building reading 83 degrees.
