Two Local Government events not to be missed

Every year the Local Government Managers Australia National Congress delivers a program with content based on real and emerging issues in Local Government around Australia. Designed by practitioners, it is very much solution and improvement oriented. Councillors and managers can target any of the 30 plus topics to better equip their organisation for the roles that they play on behalf of their communities.

There are sessions dealing with organisational culture, being a successful Councillor, community safety and place management. Also included are keynote speakers that will inform and inspire, analytical workshops that dig deeper into universal issues and the nation’s leading product and service providers will all be at the one convenient location. The added value offered by the associated activities is equally compelling.

The biennial International Best Practices Symposium is back in a much improved format.

Run over the two days preceding the Congress, you can either extend your registration to include the symposium, or target people in your organisation based on content. Either way, there are generous group discounts.

A program of six case studies from around the world facilitated and presented by international experts, as well as the ‘Marketplace of Ideas’ will provide a unique opportunity to explore and interpret outstandingly successful Local Government innovations.

Australian councils are urged to make the Congress and the Best Practices Symposium part of their organisational development program. It’s an investment in better government.
