Website promotes urban renewal program

Brisbane City Council’s Urban Renewal Taskforce has found the City’s website a convenient way of promoting its initiatives to revitalise the City’s inner suburbs.

Council’s multi award winning program can be accessed by people seeking information on work, investment or lifestyle opportunities in the area. The address is www. brisbane.qld.gov.au/urban_renew/urban_renewal.htm

The site provides the following information.

  • The role of the Urban Renewal Task Force, its performance and funding
  • New opportunities for investing, working, living or leisure opportunities in the area
  • The area’s history and community information
  • Links to other features on the site

Developers and investors can access in depth data on each suburb, from graphs on program performance and development to maps on the planning vision, a tour of the area and bikeways. Vivien Harris, from the Taskforce, said that the website is a good way of tapping into potential dwellers, investors or others who might be browsing the Web for information on possible new locations.

Users have the opportunity to make contact with the Task Force online or request additional information through the feedback and order forms available via the site. The graphs are also regularly updated giving a convenient overview of how the Urban Renewal program is performing.

For further information contact Vivien Harris, telephone (07) 3403 0166.
