Net dining in Canterbury

While many Councils publish local restaurant guides, Sydney’s Canterbury City Council has gone a step further. A restaurant guide included on Council’s Internet site has proved a big success.

Canterbury Councillor Ian Latham said that one of the things that makes Canterbury such a great place to live is the diversity of its restaurants.

“Canterbury has some of the best ethnic restaurants in Sydney and using the Internet is a good way to publicise them as well as publicising the City itself,” he said.

The Internet has proved to be a great benefit for Council in communicating with its residents and this latest development is a further benefit. He said already the majority of local restaurants have put their details on the site. Council is now being approached from restaurants outside Canterbury to do the same.

The restaurant guide can be found at www.canterbury.nsw.gov.au
