Our Sporting Future 2003

Our Sporting Future will be under discussion from 12 to 15 March 2003 as part of a forum on issues confronting the sports system. Hosted by the Australian Sports Commission, this crucial forum will explore the challenges of building a robust and sustainable sporting system, as well as recruiting, retaining, and developing the expertise and capabilities of the people, including coaches, officials and administrators within it.

Councils and the community clubs they work with will receive great value from the forum and hear about the latest in sport development and strategies to increase their success. Participants will be exposed to a range of experiences, concepts and ideas for improving and growing sport and will be armed with new ideas and practical examples to improve sports delivery in their local areas. Issues that affect the way in which Local Governments play a critical role in sustaining the national system of sport and serve their stakeholders and residents will be explored in areas of the program.

This will be an exciting national forum that will deliver relevant information, ideas and strategies to assist sporting organisations to expand their membership base, enhance high performance outcomes and develop capabilities as effective managers and deliverers of sport in Australia. Importantly, by gathering together experts and leaders in sport, the forum will also play a vital role in setting the future direction of Australian sport.

Our Sporting Future 2003 will be the premier sport industry forum providing the latest innovations for coaches, officials, managers and administrators, as well as exploring the issues that face organisations as they try to develop sport in the 21st century. It will provide an excellent professional development opportunity for staff and volunteers, as well as local sporting clubs and associations in the region.
