Dr David Suzuki launches Frankston vision

The internationally recognised scientist and conservation campaigner, Dr David Suzuki, recently launched Greening Frankston. Frankston Council, one of the first Local Governments in Victoria to appoint conservation officers, is now embarking on a seven point campaign program to protect the environment.

The campaign includes the protection of significant vegetation, recycled water use, strategic land buying, community information and education.

Frankston Councillor, Cathy Wilson, said that through the Greening Frankston campaign Council was taking a leadership role to drive the sustainability agenda in Local Government in Melbourne.

“Our aim is to continue educating and involving the community and local business in sustainable practices in order to protect our natural assets, and the life they support, on behalf of current and future generations,” Cr Wilson said.
