A Vision for Our Future
Casey’s dramatic growth requires effective planning to ensure the service and infrastructure needs of the community are delivered. ‘Casey C21: A Vision for Our Future’ is an integrated strategic plan designed to guide decision making and planning in areas such as land use, community development, economic development, infrastructure, recreation and people services.
C21 focuses on three time frames: the next five years; the next 25 years; and the next 50 to 100 years. It is a whole of community strategy incorporating social, economic and environmental needs and it encourages community participation. The plan is directed towards the delivery of five specific outcomes relating to employment, equal opportunity and access, prosperity, youth and the environment.
C21 draws on extensive research, including the knowledge of Council staff and input from the wider community – more than 2,500 people provided feedback through surveys, workshops and interviews.
It is an evolutionary project with strategies to be developed over the next ten years. The outcomes of these strategies and other work of Council will inform and refine C21 so that it remains focused and relevant.
