Showcase your Council at the 2nd Australasian Technology and Innovation Expo (TIE)

Gold Coast Convention Centre 15–17 March 2006

With the theme, Productivity through Technology and Innovation – Councils doing it Better, TIE Conference convenor, the Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ) is calling for nominations from Councils across Australia and New Zealand for a 20 minute Council Best Practice and Innovation Showcase at the 2006 Expo.

A showcase will be chosen in each of the categories listed below. Successful Councils will be offered up to a maximum of $2,500 to cover registration, travel and accommodation costs. Nominations must be registered by 5.00pm Friday 18 November 2005. Successful showcase Councils will be announced by Friday 2 December 2005.

The 13 categories include:

  • Application Service Provider (ASP) Technology and Shared Service Models
  • Mobile Computing
  • Infrastructure Data Capture and Management
  • Energy Management Efficiency
  • Engineering and Construction Efficiency
  • Satellite Technology Applications
  • Council Communications Innovations
  • E-services and Transactions
  • Plant and Equipment
  • Geographical Information Systems (GIS)
  • Regulatory Functions (Planning, Building and Environmental Health)
  • Information, Knowledge and/or Customer Relationship Management
  • Wireless Community or Work Environments.
