The Australian Drilling Industry Association (ADIA) will be staging its bi annual conference and expo from 22 to 24 September 2010 in Adelaide.
This important event has attracted the largest assembly of drilling equipment, down-hole consumables and related supplies ever seen in this country.
At the Adelaide Convention Centre 63 manufacturers and suppliers will be exhibiting their products and services as an integral part of DRILL 2010 – the national conference for the Australasian Drilling sector.
Because many of us operate in remote locations, our conferences provide a unique opportunity for drilling contractors and suppliers to meet and discuss a wide variety of topics – including both management and technical elements.
Additionally, 18 exhibitors are intending to display large capital items, providing delegates with the opportunity to see some of the latest drilling rigs, compressors, pumps, trucks and down-hole survey systems.
We believe that it is also important to keep our clients, geologists, consulting engineers and hydrologists up to date with regards to technology that is available to help solve many vexing problems.
To ensure that the efforts of our suppliers in supporting Drill 2010 are not wasted, the Association would like to extend to FOCUS readers an open invitation to view the exhibits – free of charge.
Who will be exhibiting their products and services at Drill 2010?
The ADIA covers all drilling sectors except oil and gas, so the majority of exhibitors will be involved with mineral exploration/mining, water wells, geotechnical and environmental investigation and coal bed methane drilling. There are also a number of support providers covering insurance and fitness for work. Some of the organisations will be well known to you; others may not.
Louis Pasteur once said – “Fortune favours the mind that is prepared.” At Drill 2010 you may well see a product or system that could help you in the future.
For example, AGE Developments will be displaying one of their mobile inspection vans, which comes equipped with a CCTV camera unit capable of inspecting bores to 2000 metres depth and 20 metres in diameter.
The unit has a swivelling head, allowing the eyepiece to tilt through 180 degrees and 360 degrees of rotation. If you have a problem bore, Age Developments have the tools to provide a very accurate prognosis to problems such as damaged casing, screens or conductor pipes.
The viewing day will be Thursday 23 September from 2.00pm to 5.00pm.
