Murray online and on target

Twelve months in the making, the Shire of Murray’s new website was launched in August.

The website represents a new way forward for the Shire’s communication with its community and key stakeholders, and will evolve into a comprehensive customer service centre for its users.

For the second year running, the Shire of Murray is in the top 10 growth councils in the nation and it recognised that a well designed website is a step in the right direction for the Shire.

Shire of Murray’s Chief Executive Officer Dean Unsworth said communication with the community will be a key performance area for the Council over the coming years, and the website is a step in the right direction for Murray.

“Our new website is the result of many hours of consultation with our staff, key stakeholders and the community,” he said.

“We have delivered a user friendly product which not only caters for our residents now, but encourages interaction, allowing the website to evolve with the community’s needs,” he said.

“It is undeniable that Local Government is a service industry, and websites are pivotal to providing quality customer service to today’s residents, a technologically savvy person who has certain expectations on the service their local government provides.”

The website incorporates Google Mapsâ„¢ providing businesses within the Shire of Murray an ability to list their details and provide residents and visitors with easy access to business information and locations.

The website has been developed by Precedent, with branches in the UK and Australia, the company has delivered state of the art websites for private enterprise, State and Local Government and Universities throughout Australia and Europe.
