Costa returns to Coffs

‘Gardening Australia’ host and Coffs Coast friend, Costa Georgiadis is returning for the 2013 Coffs Coast Sustainable Living Festival in November.

The popular presenter, landscape gardener and slow food advocate will again be the star attraction at the kick-off event for the week-long festival – the Botanica Spring Fair.

The Fair, which springs into life on Sunday November 3, will celebrate all things sustainable through a range of engaging and fun activities, talks, children’s events, demonstrations, stalls, music and great food.

The Coffs Coast Sustainable Living Festival aims to engage and inspire people to live more sustainably, with a focus on healthy lifestyles, ethical choices, energy-saving, backyard biodiversity, local food, water and waste.

Some of the other events running during the festival include the Super Saturday Workshops on November 9, the annual ‘Show Us Ya Dish’ cook-off at the Coffs Coast Growers Market, yoga classes and guided bush walks.

Costa Georgiadias said the event was inspiring.

“Events like the Coffs Coast Sustainable Living Festival are a fantastic opportunity for people to connect with what’s going on around them and learn more about how easily they can be part of a sustainable community.”

This year the festival is going regional and community groups and schools across the Coffs Coast region have been invited to participate and hold a ‘green’ themed activity or event.

All community groups and schools that hold a green event can have their event promoted for free in this year’s program, which will be distributed across the Coffs Coast in October.

This year’s festival is supported by Coffs Harbour City Council, Our Living Coast and Friends of the North Coast Regional Botanic Garden.
