ALGWA National conference

The Australian Local Government Women’s Association (ALGWA) would like to invite you to The ‘State of Women in Local Government’ address.

The event is being held as part of the ALGWA National Conference at the Novotel Barossa Valley Resort on Wednesday March 25, 2015 at 2pm.

A special presentation will be given on the 5050 Vision Program, its development and progress.

The 5050 Vision Program was introduced in 2010 to improve the local government workforce through:

  • a stronger and more effective leadership;
  • policies that reflect innovative leadership and management;
  • collaborative decision-making processes through staff engagement.

It also had the purpose of providing for workforce diversity in its broadest sense by making local government a fair and more flexible workplace, in advancing gender equality as well as dealing with an ageing workforce.
Councils with awards will be invited to ‘showcase’ their achievements at the event.

Details on the program and registration information are accessible at www.5050vision.com.au.

The cost is free, however bookings are essential.

Bookings can be made with ALGWA secretary, Karen Murray via email at KarenMurray@logan.qld.gov.au or by calling (07) 3412 5380.
Reservations must be made no later than February 28.

If you are not attending the Conference, but wish to attend Opening Welcome Drinks  (following this event) you can book separately via: algwaconf2015.com/wordpress/

Go to Registration–Opening Welcome Drinks.
