For the first time, professionals in the New South Wales local government sector will get the chance for their work and projects to be recognised at a national level.
The NSW Excellence Awards, produced by Local Government Professionals Australia, NSW are now offering the chance for the recipients of three specialised awards to be recognised at the National Local Government Managers Australia (LGMA) Federation Awards in Darwin.
The NSW Local Government Excellence Awards identify the outstanding achievements and results produced by individuals and teams to improve the NSW local government sector; one of the most prestigious accomplishments one can achieve in the sector.
The winners from the following categories will be shortlisted as finalists in the corresponding national award:
- Excellence in Leadership and Management
- Next Gen Emerging Leader
- Partnerships for Growth
The 8 alternative categories that councils can nominate for include:
- Excellence in Local Economic Contribution
- Excellence in Environmental Leadership and Sustainability
- Special Project Initiative
- Excellence in Diversity
- Excellence in Community Services
- Excellence in Age-friendly Communities
- Excellence in Workforce Management
- Excellence in Asset Management
LG Professionals, NSW Chief Executive Officer, Annalisa Haskell, states that this is the first time that the LGMA Federation has come together to recognise the contributions local government professionals have made in the industry.
