Leichhardt Municipal Council has announced a partnership with Nabo.com.au, a social network that connects Australians with their neighbours.
The network assists people who want a closer connection to their neighbourhood to organise events, trade goods, recommend services or share local history and skills.
Through its partnership with Nabo, Leichhardt Council will engage directly with residents in its municipality to provide news, updates on local events and essential alerts and information.
The announcement follows exponential growth on Nabo.com.au in Sydney’s Inner West, with memberships in the area doubling in the last two months, making it the fastest growing region across the country.
Founder and CEO of Nabo.com.au, Adam Rigby said, “Research recently released by Nabo found a strong desire for closer community connection, especially in the Inner West and City, where 58 percent of people say they wish they knew their neighbours better.
“Nabo.com.au aims to build healthier neighbourhoods, reduce crime and foster a sense of connection by providing a safe and easy way for residents to connect with others in their neighbourhood.
“Our partnership with Leichhardt Council will enable the organisation to communicate directly with local residents, providing a new approach to community relationship management.”
