The City of Armadale is creating a Cycling Infrastructure Strategy to guide the development of cycling within the City.
The purpose of the strategy is to prepare an action and implementation plan, including a schedule of works, to develop and promote cycling in the City of Armadale.
It will also include a participation and education strategy to encourage further uptake in cycling for school children, commuters, recreational cyclists
and tourists.
As part of community consultation behind the strategy, an online survey has been launched to obtain public feedback about existing cycling facilities in the City, and suggestions for future planning.
Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM JP said the Cycling Infrastructure Strategy would align with the State Government’s Western Australian Bicycle Network Plan in guiding the continued delivery of cycling infrastructure.
“To meet the City’s rising demand for paths and on-road facilities for cyclists, the strategy will provide a framework to address the growing need for convenient and safe cycling routes and end-of-trip facilities.
“The strategy will be developed to leave a lasting legacy for current and future cyclists.”
