Top speakers confirmed for EDA National Economic Development Conference 2016*

The City of Swan is excited to have secured 20 high profile keynote speakers with considerable experience in economic development to spark strong discussion at the event.

Canada’s Wendy Dupley and the Western Australian (WA) Governor Kerry Sanderson AC will headline the first National Economic Development Conference (NEDC) to be held in Perth.

Ms Dupley is the director of Economic Developers Association of Canada and the Executive Director for the City of Abbotsford Economic Development team and is known for her creative, visionary and strategic leadership with more than 25 years of global experience in the public and private sectors.

Ms Sanderson had a distinguished career in government and business and was named an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2004 for service to the development and management of the port and maritime industries in Australia, and to public sector governance in the areas of finance and transport in Western Australia. In 2016 she was awarded the Companion of the Order of Australia.

Other prominent speakers will include Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority Chief Executive Officer Kieran Kinsella, International Economic Development Council President and CEO Jeff Finkle and AEC Group CEO Ashley Page.

The two-and-a-half day conference is expected to attract more than 200 delegates including economic development practitioners and representatives from both interstate and overseas and all levels of government as well as various aligned organisations from within WA.
