Parks and Leisure night of nights*

Parks & Leisure Australia’s Awards of Excellence Gala celebrates the industry’s best.

Each year Parks & Leisure Australia acknowledges excellence in the industry through its prestigious Awards of Excellence. These annual awards recognise outstanding initiatives and innovative efforts of ‘the people behind the places’ that promote and enhance opportunities for the good use of leisure time.

This year’s awards ceremony will be hosted at the iconic Adelaide Oval by Stephanie Brantz, one of Australia’s most popular sports presenters and a self-confessed sports nut.

Stephanie has worked for SBS, Nine and FOX but now works at ABC1 where she hosts the W-League and WNBL coverage as well as taking on other hosting roles throughout the year.

The PLA Awards of Excellence recognises outstanding industry achievements in design, innovation and research as well as defining the future of the industry by discovering and awarding talent through the ‘Emerging Leader of the Year Award’ and the ‘David Aldous Student of the Year Award’.

Eve Craker, winner of the Emerging Leader of the Year Award last year, said, “winning this award was huge for me, it gave me a lot of confidence in this industry as well as recognising all the hard work I had done as part of the team at Adelaide City Council”.

This event will showcase the amazing talents of individuals and teams across Australia as part of the wider Parks and Leisure National Conference taking place at the same time. The PLA National Conference (October 23-25) will feature speakers from all over the world who are coming to share their experiences and pass on their knowledge.

Keynote speakers David Engwich, Holly Ransom, Mark McCrindle and Kevin Lafferty will be presenting as well as making themselves available for lunch learning sessions.

Michael Shull and Anthony Paul Diaz from the Los Angeles Parks Department will also be running workshops.

Tickets to both the Awards Night Gala and the Conference are still available. Head to www.parksleisure.com.au/conference or call (08) 8332 0130 for more information.

The event is proudly sponsored by Greenlife Group and Toro Australia.
