Ulladulla is shooting goals

City of Shoalhaven, New South Wales, netballers have celebrated a win with the official opening of two new netball courts in Ulladulla.

Minister for Regional Development, Territories and Local Government John McVeigh said by providing high-quality sports infrastructure, the Coalition Government was investing in the future of regional communities.

“Netball is a beloved sport in a sport-loving nation, and these new courts will help support its growth by accommodating more players for training and playing in a safe, high-quality environment.

“The courts will help facilitate increased regional participation in netball, which could lead to the discovery of the next Commonwealth Games athlete.

The Federal Member for Gilmore, Ann Sudmalis, said the additional courts would tackle a shortage of netball facilities in the region and provide a boost to local sport.

“Thanks to $150,000 provided by the Australian Government, Council has been able to provide two new, acrylic-topped netball courts, which is fantastic news for existing as well as our young potential talent.”

Shoalhaven City Mayor Amanda Findley said the upgrade would help promote social cohesion in the region.

“Council continues to invest in community sporting infrastructure to help bring Shoalhaven residents together through sport, and we thank the Australian Government for its generous support in bringing this project to fruition over the past six months.”

The Federal Government invested $150,000 in the project, with Shoalhaven City Council contributing $127,000.
