The Koondrook Wharf in Victoria’s Gannawarra Shire, has won three categories of the 2018 Victorian Architecture Awards announced in Melbourne on 29 June.
Mayor, Brian Gibson, said it was a great honour to have the wharf shortlisted in three categories at a state level, and to win all three categories was outstanding.
The wharf won the Small Project, Urban Design and Regional categories.
“We are very excited that the Koondrook Wharf will now progress to the National Architecture Awards to be announced in November.”
In addition the Koondrook Wharf and architect company Terroir have been shortlisted in the 2018 World Architecture Festival Awards.
Mayor Gibson said the World Architecture Festival is the world’s largest architectural award program receiving entries from projects located in over 80 countries.
“The World Architecture Festival is dedicated to celebrating, sharing and inspiring outstanding architecture.
“To be shortlisted on a world stage against projects based in Norway, China, Spain and India is remarkable.
“Koondrook Wharf has been shortlisted in the Landscape – Rural Projects category and Terroir will travel to Amsterdam in November to present to a jury of more than 100 international judges.
“We are very proud of Koondrook Warf,” said Mayor Gibson. “We look forward to welcoming the extra visitors this recognition will bring to Koondrook and our wider district.”
