West Arnhem Regional Council, Northern Territory, recently installed 40 new-tech LED street lights in public areas of Gunbalanya, making the community shine brighter than ever.
Funded by Gunbalanya’s Local Authority, the work was carried out by West Arnhem Regional Council staff with plenty of consultation going into deciding each light location around the community.
The installation of the new solar powered lights will provide lighting in previously unlit public areas; increasing public safety and deterring anti-social behaviour.
The lights are operated by solar panel, keeping public lighting expenses to a minimum in the community.
This project is part of Council’s strategic goal to deliver quality street lights with increased longevity, low maintenance costs and reduced power bills across all West Arnhem communities.
