Inspiring winning photos

The annual City of Kwinana, Western Australia, photography competition this year captured the area’s inspiring places, people and things.

Entries addressed the theme of Kwinana Inspires, defined as any place, person or thing that the entrant felt played an inspiring role or part in their life.

The City received 71 entries to the Kwinana Inspires Photography Competition which were on display at the Kwinana Public Library.
Deputy Mayor, Peter Feasey said the number of entries was up from 60 last year.

“We love seeing what inspires people about Kwinana through the photographic skills of those living, visiting and working in the area.

“The winning entries this year were all taken outdoors and featured our community’s remarkable landscapes.”

Levi Montgomery won the Adult category for her image featuring the grain terminal at Kwinana Beach during the last sunset of 2020.

Councillor Wendy Cooper was among the panel of judges and presented certificates to winners who gathered at the Kwinana Public Library on Wednesday, 14 July.

“I think it’s wonderful to see young people respond to a challenge and embrace the topic of Kwinana Inspires in such a positive way,” Cr Cooper said.

Eight entries were also recognised with High Distinctions.
