SurfLink Corporate Services is a business unit of the Surf Coast Shire formed in 1995. SurfLink has developed software for its own application and now markets and distributes this throughout Australia. The software business unit is a strategic alliance between SurfLink and Icon Global Solutions P/L. Our objective is to sell software products and business consultancy to Local Government Authorities throughout Australia. We have three software packages, IT Works, CareLink and Asset Manager.

I.T. Works &endash; is a fully integrated software package designed to enhance performance management, customer service and benchmarking.

I.T. Works has improved the management of civil works operations and enabled users to understand what is produced, at what cost and how efficiently capital resources are used.

This product is designed to assist authorities to significantly improve the management of labour, plant and material resources.

The resultant productivity improvements can be further invested into maintaining assets or be directed into capital works.

The system enables users to develop quality and cost standards, measure and monitor performance to these standards.

Approximately 20 Councils in Australia have purchased and utilised I.T. Works to its full advantage and reaped the benefits of an improved knowledge of unit costs, production levels and performance.

CareLink &endash; is an award winning Home Care Management System.

The system was developed by SurfLink Home Care staff and Icon Global Solutions in 1997. The software has been developed to manage SurfLink’s Council and private Home Care business.

CareLink is modular and facilitates the assessment of prospective clients for Home Care according to needs and their means.

The client register is the core database for all modules.

The software manages home maintenance, delivered meals, community transport service and home handyman service.

Extensive reporting is available from the software for internal management and external funding bodies.

A key advantage of CareLink is that it can be customised for each client.

Asset Manager &endash; system is an exciting new product developed by a team of five Councils, including Surf Coast Shire, Hepburn Shire, Central Goldfields, Mt Alexander Shire and Pyrenees Shire.

As opposed to traditional Asset Manager systems, this versatile software enables any type of Council asset to be recorded, maintained and analysed in the one set of simple user-friendly screens.

The system is flexible enough to manage roads, bridges, buildings, parks, plant and any other type of asset in one simple user-friendly system.

The system also enables far broader parameters than condition to be incorporated into the predictive modelling for future investments. Digital images can be imported and the system integrates to the Geographic Information System.

A number of Councils in Victoria have purchased and utilised Asset Manager to its full advantage and reaped the benefits.
